Hugo Pouca Roupa
illustrator
At just 26 years old, he has already been teaching visual arts and digital arts, and has been a multimedia assistant, motion designer and graphic designer on productions for Seward Productions in London, as well as a product designer in Dublin.
Hugo grew up surrounded by fantasy and science fiction stories like any other child who grew up in the 2000s. In his illustration style we find both a tribute to the famous engravers of times past, as well as to the great black and white designers of modern times. Somewhere in his long list of titles that inspired him can be found great classics such as: Spiderwick, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Divine Comedy, Odyssey, The Extraordinary Travels of Jules Verne, Lovecraft's Best Tales, and much more. These works triggered a voracious need to make books and, above all, to illustrate them.
With artistic education in the area of graphic design and animation came the opportunity to develop his skills in illustration, book design, and animation. These studies provided the necessary tools to begin creating authorial material both in literature and editorial and in comics and animation.
Hugo also did logo design, animation, motion design, graphic design and UI/UX design projects for international companies. He currently has increased his knowledge in the area of interface and user design, areas in which he works most of the time. Hugo has more literary and animation projects in development and promises many more fantasy, horror, and science fiction stories to be revealed in the coming years. His work and development can be followed through his social networks and website.
